Qingyang Vocational and Technical College was approved by the People's Government of Gansu Province in October 2014 and filed with the Ministry of Education in April 2015. It is a full-time general higher vocational college. The college is located in the core area of a large-scale national energy and chemical base in Longdong, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, the seat of the Soviet government of the former Shaanxi-Gansu Revolutionary Base. It is under the management of Qingyang Municipal People's Government and receives professional guidance from the Education Department of Gansu Province.
The college adheres to the school motto of "seeking truth clearly, applying precision to application", the school spirit of "diligence, thoughtfulness, hard work", follow the people-oriented philosophy of running a school, take talent training as the fundamental task, adhere to moral education, education for people, and service Development is the purpose, employment promotion is the direction, education and teaching, scientific research are carried out, cultural inheritance and innovation are promoted, and important contributions have been made to the promotion of regional economic and social development.
The college now covers an area of 257 acres (745 acres of reserved land), with a construction area of 78,500 square meters, training equipment worth 23 million yuan, and fixed assets 248 million yuan. There are 326 faculty members, including 287 full-time teachers, 65 senior titles, and 103 intermediate titles. There are 29 postgraduates and 2 PhD candidates. The college has 14 party and government management institutions, 3 group organizations, 9 teaching institutions and 2 teaching assistant institutions. 23 higher vocational majors including accounting, pre-school education, industrial robot technology, mine electromechanical, construction engineering technology, and sports training are opened. There are 4100 students in school.
The college adheres to the road of running a school of "integration of work and study, and school-enterprise cooperation", actively serving the local economic construction, and continuously improving the level of scientific research. In recent years, 26 research projects of various types have been declared and approved. Teachers have published 28 school-based textbooks, 4 monographs, more than 300 papers, and 5 national invention patents. Won the second prize of University Scientific Research Achievement Award from the Education Department of Gansu Province, the Outstanding Achievement of Social Science in Qingyang City and the "Five Ones" Project Award. Twelve faculty members were commended and rewarded by the Ministry of Education, the State Sports General Administration, and the League Central Committee, and 43 teachers were awarded the title of "Provincial and Municipal Excellent Tutors".
The college has always unswervingly followed the connotative development path, actively adapted to the needs of regional economic and social development, adopted the "skills + education + employment" model, continuously improved the integration of industry and education, coordinated education mechanism, reformed the talent training model, and steadily improved the quality of teaching. It has successively won the National Industrial Robot Virtual Simulation Competition of Higher Vocational Colleges, the second and third prizes of the National University Student Robotics Competition, and the bronze medal of the Gansu Division Final of the "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The college has been commended and rewarded many times by the Gansu Provincial Department of Education, the Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the Qingyang Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government.
