Lanzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology

Lanzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Gansu Province, filed by the Ministry of Education, included in the national general college enrollment plan, and independently issued academic certificates.


    Academy was founded in 1996. At the beginning of its establishment, the school was the Gansu Provincial National Defense Secondary Professional School, approved by the Department of Education, and jointly managed by the Gansu Provincial Planning Commission, the Provincial National Defense Education Commission, and the Provincial Military Region. In May 2013, after a comprehensive evaluation by the provincial government and the Provincial Department of Education, it was renamed Lanzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology by the Ministry of Education, and the school level was upgraded to higher education. In 2014, it was included in the national general college entrance examination enrollment plan.


  The college covers an area of 230 acres, with a building area of more than 80,000 square meters. Standardized plastic track and field sports fields, tennis courts, university student activity centers and other basic facilities are complete. There are 4 teaching units and 15 majors. There are 1,814 students, 145 faculty members, and 94 teachers. Among them, the professional core courses of nursing and industrial robot technology are respectively taught by professors and doctors from Lanzhou University School of Medicine, Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Sixteenth Research Institute of China Aerospace Ninth Research Institute. The proportion of full-time teachers with "double teacher" quality reaches 35 %, the teachers are strong.


The college takes the construction of basic conditions for running a school as the basic project for development, and has built the first high-tech comprehensive training base in the province’s higher vocational colleges, covering dental medicine technology, life science (basic medicine), industrial robots, new energy vehicle testing and Maintenance, artificial intelligence welding, rehabilitation treatment technology and many other "high, new and special" professional disciplines are all put into use. Among them, the Human Life Science Museum is the medical professional training center with the largest collection of specimens and the most complete pathological specimens in the province. It is also the only life science education and training base and science popularization base open to the outside world in Gansu Province; the industrial robot technology training center is owned by China Aerospace Science and Technology Constructed by the 16th Research Institute of the Ninth Research Institute of the Group Company, it is the "Industrial Robot Applied Talent Training Demonstration Project", "Industrial Robot Demonstration Base", and "School-Enterprise Cooperation Demonstration Base" determined by the institute on the basis of screening and evaluation. The regional higher vocational colleges have large-scale training centers with the most complete robot models, and the total number of on-campus training centers has reached 35. The collection of paper books is 111,000 volumes, with an average of 92 volumes per student, and the conditions for running a school are superior.

  The college has successively won the honorary titles of "civilized unit", "advanced unit of spiritual civilization construction", "advanced unit for training dual-use talents", "gardening unit" and "advanced unit of vocational education". The school's effectiveness has been recognized by the society. In 2017, it was rated as a "5A" level unit in the evaluation of provincial social organizations in Gansu Province.
