Gansu Vocational College of Finance and Trade was established on February 29, 2016 with the approval of the Gansu Provincial People's Government. It is organized by the Provincial Government and is affiliated to the Provincial Department of Education. It is the only public finance and economics general higher vocational school in the province. The college is based on the original Lanzhou Garment Workers College and is formed by the integration of 7 schools directly under the Provincial Department of Education. The college has 8 professional departments, including accounting department, finance department, logistics department, economic management department, art design department, applied engineering department, information technology department, and modern service department. There are currently 424 faculty members, including 353 full-time teachers, 13 senior teachers, 162 associate senior teachers, 102 "dual-qualified" teachers, and 57 teachers with postgraduate and master's degrees. The college implements the integration of secondary and higher vocational education. There are currently 26 higher vocational majors, 16 secondary vocational majors, and more than 9,700 students (including more than 8,300 vocational students). The college attaches great importance to practical teaching and school-enterprise cooperation, and has established more than 60 training bases both inside and outside the province. The college invested nearly 30 million yuan to build a first-class level Huawei cloud computing data center; invested 50 million yuan to build a modern logistics training center with a building area of 10,000 square meters; there is also a campus in the south of the college The "Lanzhou New District Vocational Education Park Public Resource Sharing Zone" served by the school covers an area of 732 acres with a building area of 195,000 square meters. The total project investment is 800 million yuan. The main functional areas are: public training center, library, college student activity center, college student innovation and entrepreneurship incubation base, health care center, business service center, etc.
The college is based in Lanzhou New District, closely centered on the eight major industries in Gansu, and serves the economic construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
