Gansu Iron and Steel Vocational and Technical College is located in Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province, a steel city in western China. It was founded by Jiuquan Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. and is the only higher vocational college sponsored by an enterprise in Gansu Province. Its predecessor was Jiuquan Iron and Steel Amateur Workers College Established in 1978, in 1982, it was approved by the People's Government of Gansu Province and filed by the Ministry of Education as a three-year college for employees.
