Longnan Teachers Technical College

Longnan Teachers College was approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2003. It was established on the basis of the merger of the former Chengxian Normal School and Lixian Normal School into Longnan Normal School. Yuancheng County Normal School was founded in 1937, and Yuanli County Normal School was founded in 1973. In April 2001, the two normal schools merged to form Longnan Normal School. In April 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Longnan Normal University was upgraded to Longnan Normal College. In 2013, Longnan Agricultural School and Chengxian Vocational Technical College were merged into Longnan Teachers College. In 2014, the school became the only technical school in the country to undertake the reform project of the Ministry of Education's outstanding teacher training plan. In 2015, the school added the Longnan E-commerce Vocational College brand.


   The school covers an area of 1036 acres, with a total school building area of 277,900 square meters, of which 140,400 square meters are used for teaching and administration, and the total value of fixed assets is 446 million yuan. There are 14 secondary colleges, 15 functional departments, 2 teaching aids, 1 affiliated experimental school, and 5 school-level scientific research institutions. There are 41 specialist majors, involving 7 disciplines including pedagogy, literature, and science. There are 112 various experimental training rooms and 133 internship training bases. The total value of teaching and research equipment is 96.971 million yuan. The library has more than 650,000 books and 1,071 kinds of periodicals.


   There are 582 faculty members in the school, including 392 full-time teachers, 22 full-time teachers, 121 associate professors, and 151 postgraduate teachers. The ratio of high-level and high-level education is 36.6% and 38.4%, respectively. There are 3 national outstanding teachers, 2 provincial-level teaching teachers, 1 special-grade teacher in Gansu Province, 1 outstanding expert and leading talent in Gansu Province, 1 selected into the 555 Innovative Talents Project, and 5 outstanding teachers in the "Garden Award" of Gansu Province. There are 2 young teachers in universities in Gansu Province, 3 foreign teachers, 35 visiting professors and 6 special-appointed professors. There are 6,133 regular full-time students.


The school has 4 provincial-level specialty majors (primary education, preschool education, Chinese education, art education), 4 provincial-level quality courses, 1 provincial-level quality resource sharing course, 15 school-level quality courses, and 36 key courses , 2 provincial-level teaching teams, won 1 provincial-level teaching achievement award, 6 department-level teaching achievement awards, 19 school-level teaching achievement awards, and 64 school-level teaching reform projects. There are 20 school-level teaching teachers and 100 young and middle-aged backbone teachers. Successfully passed the two rounds of the Ministry of Education's evaluation of the level of talent training in higher vocational colleges in 2008 and 2013.


In recent years, the school has undertaken a total of 193 scientific research projects at all levels and various types (including: 3 national-level projects, 9 provincial (ministerial)-level projects, and 82 municipal (departmental)-level projects); published papers in various academic journals 2360 articles (including: 203 Chinese core journals, 83 CSSCI journals, 7 SCI journals, 4 EI journals); published 37 academic works (including: 24 monographs, 4 co-authors, and 10 editor-in-chief), editor-in-chief Participated in the compilation of 64 kinds of textbooks (departments); authorized 1 invention patent and 3 design patents; won the Gansu Provincial Social Science Achievement Award, Gansu Provincial University Science and Technology Progress Award and other various scientific research awards (including: Provincial (Ministry) ) Level 21 items, city (department) level 353 items). The school has achieved fruitful results in the areas of Baima Tibetans, early Qin culture, Longshu ancient roads and characteristic industries, resource development and other areas of regional economic and cultural research, forming certain advantages.


   In the course of nearly 80 years of running a school, it has trained 35,000 outstanding elementary and middle school teachers and other specialized talents. It is known as the mother machine of Longnan basic education and the cradle of grassroots cadres, and has made important contributions to the economic and social development of Gansu. In recent years, under the correct leadership and strong support of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Government, Provincial Department of Education, Longnan Municipal Party Committee, and Municipal Government, the school has adhered to the guidance of the scientific development concept, firmly grasped the direction of higher education, and insisted on the center of talent quality.
