Longqiao College of Lanzhou University of Commerce was established with the approval of the Gansu Provincial Government in March 2000. It is the first batch of full-time general undergraduate independent colleges recognized by the Ministry of Education. Enrollment is included in the national general college enrollment plan, and students’ graduation and employment enjoy the same qualifications and treatment as state-run college students.
There are 12,538 full-time undergraduates and 895 faculty members. There are 4 teaching departments in 9 departments including economics and trade, finance, law, foreign language and literature, art design, civil engineering, information engineering, business administration, and accounting. There is 1 provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 key (cultivation) laboratory of universities in Gansu Province; 6 disciplines, involving economics, management, law, literature, engineering, art, etc., existing undergraduate majors 42 (including professional directions), forming a professional structure with management and economics as the main body, law, literature, art, engineering and other disciplines supporting each other.
The college is located in the Heping Economic Development Zone of Lanzhou City, with a campus area of 417,000 square meters (625.64 acres), a building area of more than 180,000 square meters, and a collection of 1.044 million books (including e-books 1331.2GB).
The college implements an innovation and entrepreneurship education program to lay the foundation for cultivating students' sense of independent innovation, enhancing students' practical ability, promoting student personality development, and improving students' comprehensive quality. In recent years, dozens of students from the college are admitted to major universities such as Beijing International Studies University, Hunan University, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, Lanzhou University, and Northwest Normal University. Students have achieved many results in competitions such as the National College Student "Challenge Cup", Mathematical Modeling, Advertising Art Competition and Gansu Province "Innovation Cup".
The campus cultural activities of the college are rich and colorful and unique. The "Longqiao Cup" campus grand debate contest, the reading culture festival, and the "1-2•9" chorus have become the college's brand cultural activities. The college strictly manages, implements the system of instructors staying in student apartments, and the system of counselors talking and admonishing, etc., and pays attention to the cultivation education of students and the education of daily behavior norms. Now a relatively mature student management system has been formed.

So far, the college has achieved some landmark development results.
