Gansu University of Political Science and Law is the only general undergraduate college of politics and law in Gansu Province, and it is also one of the earliest provincial undergraduate political and law colleges established in the country. The predecessor of the school was the Gansu Provincial Political and Law Cadre School established in 1956. It was established as Gansu Political and Law College in 1984, and it officially opened general higher education. In 2006, he obtained the qualification of a master's degree granting unit, and in 2007, he started a master's degree postgraduate education. International student education was launched in 2017, and in the same year, it was identified as a construction unit for doctoral degree granting projects in Gansu Province. The school is one of the first batch of colleges and universities for the education and training of outstanding legal talents, the second batch of colleges and universities in the country to practice education, innovation and entrepreneurship education bases" and a member of the "League Alliance" of national political and law colleges. The school has two campuses, Lanzhou Anning Campus and Lanzhou New District Campus, covering an area of 1066.59 acres. There are 10,202 full-time undergraduates and 884 postgraduates. There are 836 faculty members, including 620 full-time teachers, 407 teachers with senior professional titles, 561 teachers with a master's degree or above, including 196 Ph.D. (including 68 students), and 282 part-time and visiting professors. The school has 12 secondary colleges and 34 undergraduate majors. It has 3 national characteristic specialty construction sites, including law, investigation, and border defense management, and 11 provincial characteristic specialty; the law discipline is the dominant discipline of Gansu Province, and the two disciplines of evidence science and business management are the characteristic disciplines of Gansu Province; law, industry and commerce Management and cyberspace security have 3 first-level disciplines for master's degree authorization, 17 second-level disciplines for master's degree authorization, and 4 professional master's authorization points. The school actively carries out foreign exchanges and cooperation with foreign universities such as Oklahoma State University in the United States, Hooverhamton University in the United Kingdom, Osh National University in Kyrgyzstan, St. Petersburg University in Russia, Kazakhstan Law University, and China University of Political Science and Law, Jilin University and other institutions The school has established inter-school academic exchanges and cooperation relationships such as exchange of foreign students, visiting scholars, and joint training.
