School History] Northwest Normal University is a key university jointly built by the People's Government of Gansu Province and the Ministry of Education, and one of the 14 universities in the western region supported by the state. Its predecessor was the National Peking Normal University. It started from the Peking Normal University Normal Hall established in 1902. It was changed to "National Beijing Higher Normal School" in 1912 and "National Peking Normal University" in 1923.
