Xiamen Security Technology Vocational College is a full-time general higher education institution approved by the People's Government of Fujian Province and filed by the Ministry of Education. It has independently issued nationally recognized diploma qualifications. It is included in the national unified enrollment plan, recruits students across the country, and has passed the evaluation of talent training.
The college is located in the Cultural and Educational Park of Xiang’an District, Xiamen City, facing the sea and strategically located adjacent to the Xiang’an Campus of Xiamen University. It is only 5 kilometers away from the Xiamen Xiang’an International Airport under construction, and 2 kilometers from the Jianxiang’an No. 3 subway. The first submarine tunnel in the country—Xiang'an Tunnel is 5 kilometers away. The Xiang'an Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University (the Grade-A hospital) under construction is just across from the main gate of the campus, which is an ideal place to study.
The campus is planned to cover an area of 580 acres. The campus has an existing building area of 140,000 square meters, with teaching buildings, experimental training bases, libraries, gymnasiums, administrative office buildings, student apartment buildings, faculty apartment buildings, canteens, etc., complete infrastructure facilities; various teaching equipment More than 14 million yuan, the library has nearly 190,000 books, more than 60 multimedia classrooms, more than 800 teaching computers, and total fixed assets of more than 300 million yuan.
The college implements the dean responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors, administers the school according to law, and administers the school by experts. Set up 14 functional departments including the Party and Government Office, Academic Affairs Office, Student Office, Library, and Training Center. There are more than 200 faculty members and 135 full-time teachers, including 26 associate professors or above, 33 masters and above, 35 "dual teacher quality" teachers, 2 provincial outstanding teachers, and 1 Chinese sports history expert. Hire 15 visiting professors and senior engineers as academic leaders.
The college has established the Department of Security, Information, Economics and Management, Aviation and Tourism, Humanities, and Ideological, Political, Education and Research Departments. 26 higher vocational majors including intelligent building engineering technology, safety protection technology, tourism management, and flight attendant have been opened. Two majors (Intelligent Building Engineering Technology, Tourism Management) are the pilot majors of innovation and entrepreneurship education education reform in colleges and universities in Fujian Province. Among them, "Intelligent Building Engineering Technology" is a provincial demonstration major and a municipal key major; three courses ( Basic accounting, security technology, college students' innovation and entrepreneurship guidance) are excellent resource sharing courses for colleges and universities in Fujian Province; special classes such as flight attendant classes and order-based training are set up. The college currently has more than 4,000 students.
The college takes "employment-oriented, work-study integration" as the talent training model, takes the connotative development path, vigorously promotes practical teaching, school-enterprise cooperation, and has established 28 experimental training rooms covering 21 higher vocational majors. More than 30 units including Science and Technology Group, Tangren Technology Co., Ltd., Fujian Academy of Safety Sciences, and China HNA Group have established close cooperation-type off-campus training bases. There are more than 30 off-campus training bases, and one vocational education training base construction project supported by the central government.
Since the school was established, with the strong support of the provincial and municipal education authorities, all teachers, students and staff have upheld the security spirit of "loyalty, courage, skill, and innovation" to achieve leapfrog development. The college will continue to adhere to the school-running philosophy of "pragmatic innovation, moral education first, and skill training", and seize the development opportunities of the "Belt and Road" to cultivate more outstanding practical and skilled talents for the construction of the West Bank.
