Zhangzhou Health Vocational College

Zhangzhou Health Vocational College is a full-time public higher vocational college founded in 1934. Its predecessor is Zhangzhou Union Medical College Hospital Senior Nurses Vocational School. Since its establishment, the school has gone through vicissitudes of life, withdrawn and merged several times, and has undergone several stages of starting from difficulties, advancing through twists and turns, and developing through reforms. He is the deputy director of the Nursing Department of the National Health Vocational Education and Teaching Steering Committee. Member unit, chairman unit of the Midwifery Specialty Sub-Committee, clinical medicine professional committee unit, Fujian Province Shortage Talent (Nursing Major) Training and Training Base, Fujian Red Cross Humanity and Life Education Base. The school has been rated as a "civilized school" and "civilized unit" by the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government for eight consecutive years. It has also been rated as "Provincial Vocational Education Advanced Unit", "Provincial Legal Education Advanced Unit", and "Provincial Military, Police and Civilian Joint Construction "Advanced Unit", "Provincial Red Cross Model School", "Provincial Red Cross Charitable Public Welfare Unit", "Provincial Advanced Unit for Student Aid Work", "Provincial Advanced Unit for Security and Stability of Colleges and Universities" and other honorary titles.


   The school runs a moderate scale, with more than 8,000 full-time students, covering an area of 412 acres and a total construction area of 201,900 square meters.


The school’s teaching and teaching support institutions are complete, with five departments, three departments and two centers, namely, the Department of Nursing, the Department of Clinical Medicine, the Department of Pharmacy, the Department of Medical Technology, the Department of Health and Health Care, the Department of Basic Medicine, the Department of Public Basics, and the Department of Ideological and Political Theory Courses. The Modern Education Technology Center and the Continuing Education and Training Center have formed a school-running model with full-time higher vocational and technical medical education as the mainstay, undergraduate and specialist correspondence courses, and various continuing medical education as supplementary.


The school’s professional structure is reasonable. There are currently 19 higher vocational majors, 3 Chinese controlled majors (clinical medicine, stomatology, acupuncture and massage), 2 key construction majors supported by the central government, 4 provincial-level quality majors, and provincial higher vocational schools. 5 demonstration majors, 1 national quality course, 10 provincial quality courses, 6 provincial teaching reform pilot projects, 1 first prize and 1 second prize of provincial teaching achievement, 1 second prize of municipal science and technology prize , 2 third prizes.


   There are 271 full-time teachers and 295 part-time teachers in the school, and more than ten well-known industry experts in the province and five Taiwanese professors are employed as guest professors. There are 4 provincial-level outstanding teaching teams, 3 provincial-level university teaching teachers, 3 provincial-level professional leaders, 10 municipal-level outstanding teachers, and 5 municipal-level outstanding talents.


   The school has relatively complete clinical teaching and practical teaching conditions. There are directly affiliated dental hospitals, medical laboratory and 3 non-directly affiliated hospitals, teaching practice hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and 133 companies. The school's training room covers an area of more than 50,000 square meters, has 21 well-equipped skill training centers, and the total value of teaching and research equipment is 56.7452 million yuan. There are 3 training bases supported by central finance, 4 training bases supported by provincial finance, and 3 provincial-level "production training base construction projects".


The school attaches great importance to scientific research and teaching and research. The Journal of Zhangzhou Health Vocational College (Quarterly) internally exchanges research and teaching and research results of full-time and part-time teachers. In recent years, 34 core journals and SCI have included 34 papers, and 120 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects have been approved. Achievements declared 12 national patents, obtained 1 invention patent, 9 practical patents, and received 5 scientific and technological progress awards above the municipal level; editor-in-chief and deputy editor-in-chief of 10 national planning textbooks, participated in editing 203 textbooks, and developed college-based textbooks 4 Book.


The school adheres to the concept of open education and actively promotes the reform of the talent training model of "school-enterprise cooperation, integration of production and education". The company and many other units have organized school-enterprise (hospital) cooperation classes for nursing, clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, ophthalmology, and rehabilitation technology. Classes are held in hospitals and workshops; with Longyan City Health and Family Planning Commission and Zhangzhou City Health and Family Planning Commission Carry out "order training" for clinical medicine and medical laboratory technology; and carry out self-study undergraduate programs for nursing majors. The school gives full play to its ability to serve regional economic and social development, actively carries out continuing education and training, etc., and cooperates with several universities such as Taiwan's Jianan University of Pharmacology and Technology and Taiwan Yuanpei University of Medical Science and Technology.


   In recent years, the employment rate of school graduates has exceeded 98%, and the satisfaction rate of employers has exceeded 95%. Since its inception, it has trained and transported nearly 40,000 college and technical technical personnel of various types of practical health professionals for the society.
