Fujian Vocational and Technical College of Information Technology is the first batch of backbone higher vocational colleges in the "National Demonstrative Higher Vocational College Construction Plan" and a key construction institution of the Fujian Provincial Demonstrative Modern Vocational College Construction Project. It is organized and managed by the Fujian Provincial Department of Education. The school insists on "inheriting elites, openness and tolerance, unity of knowledge and action, and collaborative innovation", adhering to the spirit of the school motto of "Honesty and Strengthening", focusing on "advanced standards, catching up with advanced, and becoming advanced" to promote "big improvement, big leap, and great "Development", and strive to become a higher vocational college with "national first-class talent training, outstanding social services, and a model of cross-strait exchanges and cooperation".
The school has a long history of running a school. It originated from the Fuzhou Youth Association Academy founded in 1906. In February 2003, it was merged and upgraded by three national key technical secondary schools, including Fujian Electronic Industry School, Fujian Engineering School, and Fujian Commercial School. Years of vocational education history has trained nearly 80,000 graduates, with alumni all over the world, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Tang Zhongzhang and Zheng Zuoxin, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and honorary principals of the school Chen Lianghui and other well-known alumni.
The school is located in a historical and cultural city, a national civilized city, and Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province. It has three campuses, Longyao, Duyuan, and Shoushan, as well as a new campus in Pingtan, which is under construction and covers an area of 1,100 acres. There are 504 faculty members, including 298 full-time teachers, 119 senior titles, 195 master degree or above, and 203 "dual-qualified" teachers. Currently, there are 1 expert who enjoys special government allowances from the State Council and a leading talent in Fujian Province’s tens of millions of projects; 2 national outstanding teachers, 7 Fujian outstanding teachers, 7 provincial-level teaching teachers, 8 provincial-level teaching teams, and 9 Provincial-level professional leaders, 4 Fujian Provincial May 1st Labor Medal winners, 4 Fujian Provincial University Outstanding Young Scientific Research Talents Cultivation Program candidates, and nearly 100 person-times serving in the Guiding Committees, associations and societies at all levels.
The school adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue, establishes the concept of "iceberg" model talent training, creates a talent training model with equal emphasis on "knowledge, skills, and quality", and also takes the lead in carrying out the research and implementation of "practical topic production" to improve students' professional ability and Key capabilities. At present, there are 7773 full-time students and more than 5,000 adult education students. In recent years, the one-time employment rate of graduates has remained above 98%, and 100% of them have obtained corresponding skill level certificates. As of June 2018, our school's students have won more than 3,300 awards in various skill competitions at all levels, including 16 first prizes, 33 second prizes, and 43 third prizes in the National Vocational College Skills Competition; For 11 consecutive years, it has won the first prize of the total score of the Fujian Provincial Higher Vocational College Skills Competition; in the "2017 National College Discipline Competition Evaluation Results (Higher Vocational)", ranked 4th in the country and 1st in Fujian Province . In the 13th, 14th, and 15th University Games of Fujian Province, they won the second, first and first prizes in the total score of the group of higher vocational colleges.
The school implements the "Large Enterprise Drive Strategy" and has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with well-known large and medium-sized companies such as General Electric (GE), China Unicom, Alibaba, Foxconn, Digital China, Yonghui Group, Newland Group, etc. At present, the total number of cooperative enterprises has reached more than 200. Schools and enterprises jointly build, improve and form a multi-level, wide-covering internal and external training base group. There are 31 internal training bases and 285 off-campus training bases, of which there are 3 national-level training bases and 8 Provincial training bases, 1 provincial public training base for vocational education, and 6 provincial skill competition bases, and trained 2,388 order talents through Foxconn Robot Orientation Class, Alibaba Special Class, and Zhonghui Order Class. The total value of the school's teaching and scientific research equipment is nearly 120 million yuan.
The school now has 43 majors including the Department of Computer Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Automation Engineering, Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Construction Engineering, Department of Business Management, Straits Tourism College, School of Digital Creativity, College of Marxism, and Department of Basic Teaching. . Among them, there are 5 major national key higher vocational colleges project construction and central financial support, 2 vocational education cooperation projects of the Ministry of Education and national demonstration majors, and 12 provincial key construction and demonstration (exquisite) majors. There are 1 national quality course, 1 national quality resource sharing course, 22 provincial quality courses, 4 provincial education quality online open courses, 3 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship courses, 43 school quality courses, and quality online There are 152 open courses, 108 micro courses, and 11 provincial teaching achievement awards. The teacher won 1 first prize, 1 second prize, and 3 third prizes in the National Informatization Teaching Design Competition.
The school adheres to the innovation and development of modern vocational education, and takes the lead in establishing the Fujian Information Industry Education Group, the Fujian Information Vocational and Technical College Cooperative Education Council, and the Fujian Higher Vocational Education Reform and Development Research Center. Since 2016, it has obtained 11 vocational education cooperation projects in the field of industrial robots of the Ministry of Education, industry-university cooperation collaborative education projects of the Ministry of Education, national vocational college equipment manufacturing demonstration professional points, and the first batch of national tourism vocational education school-enterprise cooperation demonstration bases. National-level projects; undertook 25 provincial-level reform pilot projects such as provincial outstanding technicians, modern apprenticeship, "dual system" and service industry characteristic professional groups; cooperated with Beijing Newland Times Education Technology Co., Ltd. to build the country's first pan-material Mixed-ownership college in the field of networking-Fujian Newland College of Information; took the lead in establishing the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone Vocational College Alliance, and actively explored the full trust of Pingtan Vocational Technical School; and jointly created the "Pingtan Digital Creativity" with the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone College”; and the Taipei Ocean University of Science and Technology to jointly build the “Fujian Vocational and Technical College of Straits Tourism College”; and the Ningxia Vocational College of Industry to cooperate with Minning colleges and universities to help and build.
The school continues to improve its social service capabilities, and has carried out a large number of educational technology exchanges, academic research exchanges, personnel training, academic qualification upgrades, technical services and skills appraisal. In recent years, more than 15,000 person-times of social training and more than 7,000 person-times of vocational skills appraisal have been carried out in recent years; 5 applied technology collaborative innovation centers (including 1 provincial-level project) have been established with industry enterprises to provide the society with professional technology development, technical consultation and services There are more than 30 projects per year, with an average annual benefit of nearly 3 million yuan. In recent years, 216 scientific research projects above the city and department level have passed the acceptance, 71 projects participated in the "6.18" exhibition, and 67 authorized patent achievements. The school is committed to building a pioneering school for cross-strait vocational education exchanges and cooperation. It has carried out in-depth exchanges and cooperation in vocational education with universities and enterprises in Taiwan, focusing on project promotion, two-way exchanges, and integrated development, and has achieved fruitful results. Since 2007, hosted the first Cross-Strait Vocational College Presidents Forum and the Fourth Cross-Strait Applied Technology University Presidents Forum; assisted in the establishment and maintenance of the Provincial "Cross-Strait Vocational Education Exchange and Cooperation Center"; cooperated with 20 Taiwan Technical and vocational colleges have established a "sister school" relationship, and jointly launched the Fujian-Taiwan school-enterprise joint talent training program with 5 of them; closely cooperated with Taipei Ocean University of Science and Technology, and cooperated with Pingtan government departments and Pingtan Vocational College to create cross-strait tourism College; hired professors from Taiwan Normal University to carry out dual-teacher professional English teaching reform, and introduced two exam certification center projects of the Global Learning and Assessment Development Center (GLAD). We hired 24 Taiwan visiting professors and 3 full-time teachers, a total of 187 faculty and staff and 225 students went to Taiwan for exchange and study, and held 5 Taiwan "sister school" teacher and student study tours to the school for exchange and study visits. In 2017 alone, there were 115 exchange personnel in Taiwan. Since the first half of 2018, 147 Taiwanese teachers and students have been received, of which 81 are "first-come" students.
The school continues to broaden the scope of cooperation in running schools, and introduces the LCCI international vocational certification courses and examination projects of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations of the United Kingdom. More than 100 teachers and students have obtained the LCCI international license; signed an inter-school cooperation exchange with California State University Northridge The agreement reached a consensus on cooperation in the development of the "3+2" undergraduate cooperative education model, mutual recognition of credits, mutual visits of teachers, project cooperation, summer camps for students to the United States and short-term study. Initiated a cooperative education project with countries along the Belt and Road. The school became a major member of the "China-India Business Center" and received a visit from Indonesia’s Ambassador to China Sugen Raharzo to reach a consensus on the development of vocational education cooperation between Fujian and Indonesia; and the National Institute of Tourism of Malta Jointly develop tourism talent training, Pingtan International Tourism Island industrial technical services and other content to reach cooperation intentions; sign inter-school cooperation agreements with South Korea's Chonnam National University of Science and South Korea, and carry out cooperation and talent training in the professional field of e-sports; and Thailand’s Chiang Rai Vocational College cooperates in student two-way exchanges, teacher capacity improvement, international student education and language teaching; exchanges and cooperation with Malaysian universities and Sabah universities; and Singapore Temasek Foundation to undertake the Fujian Vocational Education Special Capacity Improvement Project in Singapore, early It also cooperated with the Singapore Technical Education Board to carry out NITEC certificate training courses, etc., and achieved good results in international exchanges and cooperation.
