Established in 1929, Fujian Water Conservancy and Electricity Vocational Technical College is the only full-time public higher vocational college in Fujian Province with water conservancy and electric power as the main professional features, and the coordinated development of construction, electromechanical, and electronic information majors. The college is a joint unit of the Fujian Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Water Conservancy Department. It is a national high-quality junior vocational college, a national high-quality water conservancy vocational college and a model modern vocational college in Fujian Province. In the history of vocational education for more than 90 years, the college has trained more than 100,000 graduates for the country. Many students have become technical backbones or leaders in the local water conservancy, electric power and other industries, and enjoy the reputation of "the cradle of Fujian hydropower talents" in the society.
The college has built a campus covering a total area of 1,080 acres (including the Fuzhou campus and Xiamen base), with a building area of more than 210,000 square meters. There are currently 15,272 enrolled students, and there are 5 professional teaching departments, including the Department of Water Conservancy Engineering, the Department of Electric Power Engineering, the Department of Construction Engineering, the Department of Information Engineering, and the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, as well as the Public Basic Department and the School of Marxism. The college currently has 232 internal and external training bases, including 96 internal training centers (rooms), 39 central and provincial financial support training bases, and 3 national production training bases. The library has 355,000 paper books, 300,000 e-books, and 26TB of other digital resources. It has implemented the "Digital Campus Project" and built a fully functional smart campus that integrates teaching, scientific research, management and services.
The college currently has 632 full-time and part-time teachers, including 16 full-time teachers with high professional titles and 106 with deputy high professional titles.
