Fujian Police College is the only full-time police college in Fujian Province organized by the People's Government of Fujian Province that trains public security and judicial police as the mainstay.
The predecessor of Academy was the Fujian Provincial Police Cadre School, which was founded in August 1949. It was renamed the Fujian Provincial Public Security Cadre School in 1950. The Fujian Provincial People’s Police School was established in October 1980. In September 1984, the police academy and the cadre school were run separately. In October 1984, the Fujian Public Security College was founded on the basis of the Fujian Provincial Public Security Cadre School. In April 2000, Fujian Provincial People's Police School and Fujian Public Security College merged to form a new Fujian Public Security College. In May 2007, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was officially upgraded to the Fujian Police Academy at the undergraduate level. In October 2010, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government adjusted the school system of Fujian Police Academy and Fujian Police Vocational College to form a new Fujian Police Academy.
The main campus of the college is located at Shoushan Road, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, and there are also Fuyuanli and Tongkou campuses. There are undergraduate teaching laboratory buildings, police comprehensive training buildings, shooting halls, gymnasiums, martial arts training halls, track and field fields, driving training fields, psychological training fields, swimming pools, mock courts and other training venues. There are currently 638,000 paper books, 272,000 e-books, 627 paper periodicals, and 3480 electronic periodicals in the collection. The college currently has 277 teachers (including 28 full-time senior vocational teachers, 87 associate senior vocational teachers, and 193 masters and doctors), more than 4,900 full-time students, and more than 5,000 in-service police officers (times).
The college has distinctive disciplines and majors. Public security and public security technology are provincial-level key disciplines, and administrative management and combat command are key disciplines of the newly-built undergraduate colleges and universities in Fujian Province. There are 8 public security and judicial undergraduate majors including public security, investigation, criminal science and technology, economic crime investigation, police command and tactics, prison science, domestic security, traffic management engineering, law, administrative management, information security, etc. 3 A general undergraduate major. Among them, criminal science and technology is a national characteristic specialty construction point, and a key specialty construction point of the Ministry of Public Security, investigation and public security are provincial characteristic specialty construction points, and economic crime investigation and prison science are characteristic specialty construction points of the service industry of colleges and universities in Fujian Province. The teaching achievements have successively won 1 national first prize, 1 provincial and ministerial special prize, 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes, and 1 third prize. There are 2 provincial-level teaching teams, 5 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 provincial-level talent model training innovation experimental areas; 1 provincial-level university humanities and social science research base (cultivation), and provincial-level university key laboratories ( Cultivate) 1 piece. 13 research institutions have been established, including the Social Security Big Data Research Institute, the Anti-drug Research Center of Southeast China, the Police Culture Research Center, the Criminology Research Institute, and the Public Security Management Research Institute. Among them, the Social Security Big Data Research Institute is one of the first 25 digital Fujian Big Data Research Institutes in Fujian Province.
The college gives full play to its professional advantages, actively serves public security and judicial work, and serves the society. It has been identified as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime "Southeast China Combating Amphetamine Drug Manufacturing and Trafficking Activities (G75) Project Training Center", and the Ministry of Public Security's police practice Training Base, Criminal Science and Technology Professional Training Base of the Material Evidence Appraisal Center of the Ministry of Public Security, Fujian Provincial Intermediate Police Officer Training Base, Public Security Police Psychological Training Base, Domestic Security Training Base, Judicial Expert Continuing Education Base, Fujian Network Security Training Base, Economic Investigation Data actual combat laboratory, Fujian Provincial Continuing Education Base, Fujian Provincial Civil Service Base.
The college actively develops various forms of academic exchanges and cooperation with police agencies, educational and scientific research institutions and personnel in countries and regions outside the country. The "International Police Practical Forum" is held every year, inviting domestic and foreign police experts, scholars and business backbones of actual combat departments to give lectures, exchanges and trainings to provide a high-end platform for public security organs and teachers and students of the college to carry out high-level police academic exchanges and learning. Since 2010, the college has actively undertaken training courses for foreign police in 15 countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America and other regions. It has gone abroad for many times to perform education aid missions and effectively serve the construction of the “Belt and Road”.
The college adheres to the school-running policy of political establishment and strict management of the school, adheres to the morality and cultivation of people, emphasizes loyal education, deepens the reform of "integration of teaching, learning, training, and warfare", strict policing management, and strives to cultivate the party and the people. Since the school was established, it has trained and transported more than 20,000 graduates for the political and legal institutions of our province, and trained nearly 100,000 in-service police officers. At present, most of the graduates have become the backbone of the public security organs at all levels, and nearly half of the graduates have taken up leadership positions at all levels in the public security political and legal fronts, and a large number of heroes and models have emerged. In view of the college’s outstanding performance in teaching reforms, police practice training, and security for major events, the Ministry of Public Security gave the college 4 first-class merits and 1 second-class merit. Since 2009, the college has been rated as a provincial-level civilized school for three consecutive years, and has been awarded the honorary titles of the National University and Technical College Student Volunteer Summer "Three Going to the Country" Advanced Unit, and the 5A Safe Campus in Fujian Province.
