Yang En University was founded in 1987 by the patriotic overseas Chinese Mr. Wu Qingxing and his family. The Yang En Foundation is the first private university in the country that has the qualifications to issue a national undergraduate degree and a bachelor's degree. In 2008, it passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education and became the first private university in Fujian Province to pass the evaluation of undergraduate teaching level.
