Minnan Normal University

Minnan Normal University is a key university in Fujian Province, established in the spring of 1958. In 1963, under the personal advocacy and care of Premier Zhou Enlai, the State Council approved the establishment of Fujian Second Normal College, which opened the door to undergraduate education in our school. In 1986, it was approved by the former State Education Commission to reopen Fujian Second Normal University and was renamed Zhangzhou Normal University. Obtained the right to confer bachelor's degree in 1992. In 2000, it passed the qualification evaluation of the first batch of undergraduate teaching work in normal colleges of the Ministry of Education. In 2003, it was added as a master's degree-granting unit by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, with the right to grant master's degree. In 2007, it was listed as a key construction university in Fujian Province. In 2008, he passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education with excellent results. In 2012, it was approved to serve the special needs of the country and the Ph.D. talent training program for Fujian culture and cross-strait exchanges, realizing a zero breakthrough in the construction of doctoral programs. In April 2013, it was renamed Minnan Normal University. In 2017, it was determined to be a construction university for the 2018-2020 Ph.D. awarding and incubating unit in Fujian Province. In 2018, it became a first-class discipline construction university in Fujian Province. In September 2018, the doctoral talent training project for serving the country's special needs was unanimously approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. In 2020, it will become a national first-class professional construction university.

The school has two campuses, Beijiangbin and Yuanshan, covering an area of about 2,000 acres. There are 68 undergraduate majors, covering ten disciplines including literature, engineering, science, education, management, economics, law, art, agriculture and history, and more than 20,000 full-time general undergraduates and postgraduates. There are more than 1,300 full-time teachers, of which 49.3% are teachers with senior professional titles; 40% are teachers with doctoral degrees; 11 experts who have enjoyed special government allowances from the State Council over the years, 25 Minjiang scholars, and the Ministry of Education "New Century Excellent Talent Support There are 2 people in the plan, and there are more than 130 outstanding experts and teaching teachers above the provincial level.

The school currently has 4 first-level key disciplines in Fujian Province (including 1 characteristic key discipline), 1 doctoral talent training program for special needs of the country, 4 first-level discipline master programs, 30 second-level discipline master programs, and 6 master programs Professional degree authorization point. 4 disciplines (groups) were selected as the plateau disciplines of Fujian Province, and 5 disciplines were selected as the applied disciplines of Fujian Province.

The school adheres to the academic strategy of revitalizing the school, with the goal of improving scientific research innovation and social services, and constantly strengthening the discipline, talent team and scientific research construction. The school currently has 27 provincial (ministerial) level scientific research innovation platforms and humanities and social science research bases, and 6 provincial-level university science and technology innovation teams. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, it successively undertook a number of national-level research tasks such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Foundation, and the research results won 18 provincial and ministerial scientific research awards. The school gives full play to its regional advantages in Taiwan, maintains a long-term and stable inter-school exchange relationship with partner universities in Taiwan, and actively conducts research on Minnan culture and cross-strait exchanges. The school has the qualification to jointly recruit undergraduate, master and doctoral students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and the qualification to recruit students from Taiwan without examination.
