Chongqing Police College (hereinafter referred to as the "school") is a full-time undergraduate college organized by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, managed by the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau and under the guidance of the Chongqing Education Commission. The predecessor of Chongqing Police College was the Public Security School of the Public Security Bureau of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, established in 1950. In 2001, the Public Security School and the Chongqing Municipal People's Police School merged to form the Chongqing Police Vocational College. In 2005, Chongqing Vocational College of Police Officers and Southwest University of Political Science and Law joined forces with Bachelor of Laws (Public Security Legal System). In 2012, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Chongqing Police College was established on the basis of Chongqing Police Vocational College. In 2015, the school was approved as a bachelor's degree awarding unit.
School conditions The school is located in Shapingba District, Chongqing City, covering an area of 420,100 square meters (630.20 acres) and a building area of 115,300 square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment is 32,493,100 yuan. The library has 654,300 paper books, 345,700 e-books, 486,800 e-journals, 710 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and 25 resource databases. There are 26 experimental training sites and 14 practice bases.
The subject professional school has 8 undergraduate majors in investigation, public security, police command and tactics, criminal science and technology, traffic management engineering, network security and law enforcement, economic crime investigation and anti-narcotics, covering two disciplines of law and engineering. Public Security Studies and Public Security Technology are two first-level disciplines. The major of police command and tactics is a key professional training point for national public security higher education and a "first-rate professional" point in Chongqing. The three majors of public security, criminal science and technology, and traffic management engineering are Chongqing's characteristic majors. The Public Security Technology Discipline is a key discipline cultivation point in Chongqing.
Faculty The school has 289 faculty members, including 51 with doctoral degrees, 20 with senior professional and technical positions, 51 with deputy senior professional and technical positions, and 157 full-time teachers. Teaching and scientific research The school has 1 national teaching team, 2 provincial and ministerial teaching teams, 2 national quality courses, 13 provincial and ministerial quality courses, and won 10 provincial and ministerial teaching achievement awards. In the National Public Security College Teaching Skills Competition, 5 teachers won the second prize and 7 teachers won the third prize. In the past three years, school teachers have presided over 213 various scientific research and teaching research projects, including 74 at the provincial and ministerial level (including 10 major key projects); teachers have published 386 papers, including 41 core journal papers and major foreign language retrievals; Obtained 20 patents, 7 software copyright registrations; published 11 academic works; won 43 scientific research achievement awards at all levels, including 7 at the provincial and ministerial level. Serving the society The school actively serves Chongqing’s economic and social development and public security work, and actively conducts research and studies on focal issues in the field of social security, and puts forward countermeasures and references. The research results have been affirmatively approved by the central government and Chongqing municipal leaders and adopted 15 times in decision-making consultations. Assisted the Ministry of Public Security in filming the "Video Demonstration Film of Public Security Organs Regulating Law Enforcement", which serves as a demonstration teaching film for public security police throughout the country to regulate law enforcement. Participated in the "8.12" Tianjin Port Explosion and other work organized by the Ministry of Public Security, serving more than 3,000 police officers. 1 peacekeeping police and 2 first secretaries stationed in the village for targeted poverty alleviation were dispatched. In the past three years, we have carried out the activities of “Sending Education and Service to the Grassroots Level” to serve more than 1,300 public security police; participated in large-scale security, guard missions, and people-loving practices, and more than 20,000 people; assisted the public security organs in handling 21 cases, including 11 major cases .
Cooperation and Exchange The school insists on opening up schools, and promotes school bureau, school-enterprise, school-school cooperation and international exchanges at multiple levels and measures. Relying on the in-depth co-construction platform of the school and bureau, it has carried out extensive collaborative education with 28 directly affiliated units of Chongqing Public Security Bureau and 41 district and county public security bureaus. Cooperate with Chongqing University, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Sichuan International Studies University, New H3C Group and other units to develop talent training. It has carried out various forms of exchanges and cooperation with the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong and other countries and regions, and carried out a student credit transfer project with the British Columbia School of Justice in Canada. Organized joint construction and exchange activities with the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization International Judicial Exchange and Cooperation Training Base, the Lancang-Mekong Comprehensive Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation Center and other organizations. The international law enforcement training has been carried out in a solid manner. 4 sessions of external police training have been organized, training more than 70 law enforcement officials from 10 countries.
Talent training Since the establishment of the school, more than 15,000 graduates have been trained, and it is known as the "cradle of Bayu police." There are 1,599 students in school and 2,066 undergraduate graduates after promotion. A large number of alumni have become the backbone of Chongqing Public Security, with the emergence of "Model of the Times" and "Most Beautiful Struggler" Yang Xuefeng, Ministry of Public Security "First-Class Models" Yang Xuefeng and Zhou Xin, Ministry of Public Security "Second-Class Models" Dai Xiaoyu, Gan Zaihua, Sun Bin, National Super Class Outstanding people's policemen Song Linen, Li Zuoming, and Wu Ke received first-class personal merit for 79 persons, second-class personal merit for 871 persons, and third-class personal merit for more than 10,000 persons.
