Founded in 1962, Chongqing Vocational College of Commerce is a full-time public institution of higher learning organized by the Chongqing Municipal Government and jointly established by the Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Municipal Education Commission.
The school is located in Chongqing University Town, which has a beautiful ecological environment, a strong cultural atmosphere, and a developed technology industry. The school occupies more than 800 acres, with a construction area of 245,000 square meters, more than 15,000 students, more than 80 million yuan in teaching equipment and training equipment, and a collection of more than 633,400 books of various types.
There are 952 faculty members, 638 full-time teachers, and 314 external teachers. Among them, 35.7% are full-time teachers with the titles of professors and associate professors, and 85% are teachers with master's and doctoral degrees. Based on the needs of economic and social development, the school relies on industry resource advantages, docking with the country’s "One Belt and One Road", the Yangtze River Economic Belt and Chongqing’s modern business service industry and other development strategies to set up majors, forming finance, business management, e-commerce logistics, catering, tourism, and publishing. Six major groups of media, information technology, 37 enrollment majors, Chongqing commerce talent training base, printing and packaging vocational training base, catering high-skilled talent training base, and "Jingdong Campus Training Center" and "Suning Tesco" have been established. There are more than 80 open skill training platforms such as "Campus Stores", and strive to build a demonstration base for innovation and entrepreneurship of commerce, industry and education. In the past three years, the employment rate of graduates has reached more than 98%.
The school actively carries out foreign exchanges and cooperation, and has signed cooperative education agreements with more than 10 universities in South Korea, Thailand, Canada, Malaysia, the Netherlands and other countries.
