Chongqing Vocational College of Art and Engineering is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. Since its inception in 2011, the school has been adhering to the school motto of “passing on from heart to hand, unity of knowledge and action”, practicing the school-running philosophy of “Education and industry fit, school and enterprise integration, teaching and career fit, and academic work and employment coupling”, focusing on training High-quality compound technical skills talents with artistic and engineering literacy.
The school now has: School of Art and Design, School of Architecture and Engineering, School of Engineering Economics and Management, School of Visual Communication, School of Fashion and Performance, School of Art Education, School of Plastic Arts, School of International Education, Five-Year School, Military and Civilian Integration School, The 11 second-level colleges of the School of Continuing Education have formed 30 majors in 5 major groups of art design, architectural engineering, film and television media, electronic information and art education. Among them, the major of environmental art design is the backbone major of Chongqing, and the major of clothing and apparel design is a municipal-level dual-base construction project, and 7 school-level key majors have been established. There are more than 6,900 students in school and more than 530 faculty members, including 452 full-time teachers. There are 98 teachers with senior professional and technical positions, accounting for 22%. Among them, 18 are full professors and 3 are doctoral supervisors. There are 274 teachers with a postgraduate degree, accounting for more than 60%, and 253 teachers with "dual qualifications", accounting for more than 60%.
The school has successively carried out inter-school cooperation with Southwest University, Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Chongqing Technology and Business University, City of Oxford College, and Australian National Institute Management and Commerce. A diversified school-running pattern featuring unified recruitment, "3+2", five-year consistent system, undergraduate promotion, undergraduate specialization, and international cooperation has been formed.
The school has led the establishment of Chongqing Art Vocational Education Group and Construction Vocational Education Group, and has carried out in-depth cooperation with more than 200 enterprises in the integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation, professional joint construction, joint construction of training bases, and order training. The school has built 50 on-campus training rooms, including 8 training rooms jointly built by schools and enterprises; 4 expert studios, 2 exhibition halls of teacher and student works, and 1 school-enterprise collaborative innovation center for productive training There are 5 bases, and practical teaching conditions are constantly improving.
The school won the China Construction Luban Award and the Provincial and Ministerial Excellent Teaching Achievement Award, undertook more than 70 teaching, research and teaching reform projects at all levels, and published more than 200 papers and works (pieces). The gold medal and the first prize have accumulatively undertaken more than 100 horizontal scientific research projects, with a total funding of more than 10 million yuan.
The school took "Project-driven-Curriculum Practice-Skills Competition" as the starting point, and successfully held the 11th and 12th "Bayu Craftsman" Cup Product Packaging Design Competition of Higher Vocational College Student Skills in Chongqing. The 13th "Bayu Craftsman" Cup Vocational College Student Skills Competition Vocal Competition; students have won more than 80 provincial and ministerial level and above competition awards. Among them, 7 people have won the first prize of the National Higher Vocational College Students Skills Competition, 11 people have won the first prize of the Art Design Competition, and 13 people have won the first prize of the Chongqing Higher Vocational College Students Skills Competition.
