Chongqing Civil Engineering Vocational College was established in 1956 and is located in Chayuan New District, Nan'an District, Chongqing City. It covers an area of more than 520 acres and is a high-quality higher vocational college in Chongqing.
The school's professional structure is reasonable. There are currently 43 majors, enrolling students nationwide. There are 1 demonstration major (transportation) in national vocational colleges, 2 key construction majors supported by the central government, 7 backbone majors in higher vocational colleges in Chongqing, and 9 specialty majors at the college level. There are 9 national and municipal key training bases, and more than 70 relatively stable off-campus training and practice bases. In 2013, the first engineering experience hall for higher vocational colleges in Chongqing was built, the first BIM training center for higher vocational colleges in Chongqing was built in 2015, and the VR training base was built in 2017.
The school has strong scientific and technological service capabilities. There are two municipal science and technology innovation platforms, Chongqing Higher Vocational Technical College Prefabricated Building Application Technology Promotion Center, and Mountain City Intelligent Road Inspection Chongqing University Engineering Center. The Chongqing Construction Industrialization Engineering Technology Research Center settled in the school and was selected as one of the first batch of prefabricated construction industry bases in Chongqing (training category).
The school deeply promotes the integration of production and education. Leading the establishment of Chongqing Intelligent Construction Vocational Education Group, cooperating with China Communications Group, Chongqing Construction Engineering Group, Chongqing Rail Transit (Group), Chongqing Institute of Building Research, Jinke Real Estate Group, Chongqing Zhongke Construction Group, Chongqing Xinlonghu Property , Wirtgen (China) Machinery Co., Ltd. and other well-known companies at home and abroad have conducted in-depth cooperation to train talents through orders and orientation, forming a distinctive industry characteristic.
The school actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation. Organized international cooperation in construction engineering technology with Australia's Gordon Vocational and Technical College, initiated mutual recognition of credits with New Zealand National Institute of Technology, and signed cooperation with New Zealand Holmesgland Government Polytechnic Institute, Malaysian Industrial Development Board (CIDB) and Australia TAFE QUEENSLAND memorandum. International students will be enrolled in 2019.
The school has been awarded successively as Chongqing "Civilized Unit", Chongqing "Advanced Collective of Education System", and "Advanced Unit for Continuing Education and Training of Constructors" by China Construction Industry Association.
