Founded in 2000, Chongqing College of Humanities, Science and Technology is a full-time private general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and supervised by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. In 2013, the school was transformed into an independent private general undergraduate university and was determined as a national applied technology university strategic pilot research university. In 2016, the school was approved as a pilot unit for postgraduate education and cultivation of master's degree in Chongqing, and it is also the only private university in Chongqing that has established a project for the construction of master's degree programs.
The school is located in Caojie Street, Hechuan District, Chongqing City, at the foot of Phoenix Mountain and by the Bell and Drum Creek.
