Founded in 1952, Chongqing Technology and Business University was approved by the Ministry of Education on January 18, 2002. It was formed by the merger of the former Yuzhou University and the former Chongqing University of Commerce. It is an economics, management, literature, engineering, law, A multi-disciplinary university with distinct financial characteristics and coordinated development of science, art and other disciplines. The school is a key support university of the national "Middle and Western University Basic Ability Enhancement Plan", and Chongqing's international humanities characteristic university. There are 38 Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education and Chongqing municipal scientific research institutions, including the International Science and Technology Cooperation Base of Intelligent Manufacturing Services, the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, the Upper Yangtze River Economic Research Center, and the Engineering Research Center of Waste Oil Recycling Technology and Equipment of the Ministry of Education. In 2016, it entered the top 100 Chinese universities for patent technology transfer. The school insists on opening up and taking the road of internationalization. There are 2 Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions approved by the Ministry of Education (International Business School and Modern International School of Design and Art). It has jointly cultivated bachelor’s and master’s degrees with more than 10 internationally renowned universities such as the Montreal Business School in Canada and the Second University of Lyon in France.
