Anhui National Defense Technology Vocational College is a public higher vocational college sponsored by the Anhui Provincial People’s Government and managed by the Anhui Military-civilian Integration Office. It is the first batch of local skilled high-level university construction colleges in Anhui Province, and a national higher vocational innovative talents and discipline competition. The school has been identified as the National Defense Technology Industry Vocational Education Training Base, the National Vocational Education Numerical Control Technology Training Base, the National Vocational Education Vehicle Testing and Maintenance Technology Training Base, and the Anhui Military Industry Confidential Education Training Base. The school is located in the main urban area of Lu'an City, a national garden city, across the road from Lu'an City People's Government.
The school’s teaching department has 8 teaching departments including the School of Mechanical Technology, and 37 majors, including 7 key majors of the National Innovation Development Action Plan, 2 modern apprenticeship pilot majors of the Ministry of Education, 13 provincial-level specialty majors, and provincial-level specialties. There are 4 innovative experimental areas for talent training models and 5 provincial-level teaching teams. The school has built an internship training center of more than 30,000 square meters, with a total value of more than 70 million yuan in teaching equipment. There are currently 6 provincial-level demonstration training centers and provincial-level school-enterprise cooperative practice education bases. The school has successively cooperated with more than 100 high-end enterprises in and outside the province, including Anhui Military Industry Group, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., HKUST Xunfei Co., Ltd., Changhong Mould & Plastic Co., Ltd., Wuhan Huizhong Jucheng Technology Co., Ltd., and AVIC China Railway Education Group. Orientation classes and titled classes have been established, and schools and enterprises work together to cultivate high-end skilled talents. The employment rate of school graduates has been above 96%.
The school has always adhered to the modern vocational education concept as the guide, with the connotation development as the main line, and the goal of improving the quality of talent training. In recent years, the school has won a total of 461 awards above the third prize in the provincial and national vocational skills competitions. There were 13 first prizes, 11 second prizes, and 26 third prizes in the China Competition. In the national college students’ satisfaction with schools (comprehensive satisfaction, environmental satisfaction, life satisfaction) survey conducted by the China Higher Education Student Information Network (Xuexin), the school scores consistently among the top. The school is a civilized unit in Lu'an City, and the school canteen is a "Lu'an Catering Demonstration Unit" and an "Advanced Collective in the Catering Industry of Colleges and Universities in Anhui Province".
