The School of Information Engineering of Fuyang Normal University is an independent college at the undergraduate level approved by the Anhui Provincial Government in 2003 and confirmed by the Ministry of Education in 2004. The college is located on the Xiqing River in Fuyang City. The Xiqing River runs through it. The willows are low, the birds and the flowers are scented, and the environment is pleasant.
The School of Information Engineering relies on the comprehensive advantages of the parent school Fuyang Normal University, and sets up majors in accordance with the development trend of modern science and technology and the needs of local economic and social development. The college currently has 29 majors in 6 departments: News and Media Department, Economic Management Department, Information Science Department, Foreign Language Department, Food Department, and Design Art Department. There are 456 full-time and part-time teachers. Eight provinces including Hubei, Zhejiang and Jiangxi have enrolled students with nearly 7,000 students. The college occupies an area of 37h square meters, 15.8h square meters of teaching and living rooms, teaching and scientific research equipment worth 4,408,500 yuan, more than 655,100 books of various kinds, and owns 33 Chinese and foreign network resource databases such as China Periodical Full-text Database and Chaoxing Digital Library.
In the past ten years since its establishment, the college has pioneered and innovated, seized opportunities, played its advantages, highlighted its characteristics, and deepened various reforms. In practice, it has initially explored a path to running a school with its characteristics, and has won widespread social recognition, praise and support. Passed the qualification evaluation of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education in 2005; in July 2010, the college was awarded the "National Advanced Independent College"; since 2011, it has successively cooperated with Woosong University in South Korea, Meiji University in Japan, Chaoyang University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, and Tongji University. The United States, the Italian Overseas Study Center, the SolBridge International Business School of Woosong University in South Korea, and the University of Salisbury in the United States have cooperated in running schools; in 2012, it was approved by the Provincial Academic Degree Office and determined to be a bachelor's degree-granting unit.
In the past ten years, the development of teaching and scientific research has shown a continuous upward trend. The faculty of the college has undertaken 39 teaching and research projects at the provincial and ministerial level and above, 115 scientific research projects at all levels and various types, published more than 600 academic papers, published 7 books and textbooks, and 10 national invention patents.
