On June 10, 2019, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of the Anhui Academy of Arts on the basis of the School of Arts and Media of Anhui University. On November 2, the provincial government issued the "Notice on Matters Concerning the Establishment of Anhui Art Institute" (Wanzheng Mi [2019] No. 193). On December 28th, Anhui Art College was officially listed.
Anhui University of the Arts is an undergraduate-level general university and is positioned as an applied higher education institution, mainly cultivating applied art talents that meet the needs of the development of emerging industries in the region.
The college is located in the Higher Education Base of Xinzhan District, Hefei City. It is planned and constructed according to the scale of 3,000 full-time students in the long-term. It covers an area of 580 acres and has a total investment of about 1.5 billion yuan. The campus planning and building of the college are designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University, which reflects Huizhou elements and architectural styles. It has first-class facilities and equipment suitable for art higher education, as well as theaters, concert halls, art galleries, master studios, and dramas. , Dance, music, art design, broadcasting and hosting professional teaching buildings and other teaching venues. The first batch of the first phase of the project started construction of 208,700 square meters, and some teaching venues and functional facilities have reached the domestic first-class level. At present, the construction of the first batch of the first phase of the project has been basically completed, and it has been put into use since 2017 according to the needs of running schools.
The existing teaching and research equipment is worth 30.54 million yuan, with 244,785 paper books. It has a modern business management system and computer network service system, and shares database resources such as Anhui University Digital Library and Anhui University e-books. It has a good teaching practice base and 67 experimental training rooms on campus. Through the selection of colleges and universities across the province and the open recruitment of good talents from the society, the school has initially established a team of full-time teachers with noble teachers, exquisite professionalism, reasonable structure, full of vitality, and good development trends. There are 184 full-time teachers, including 18 full-time teachers and 64 associate professors or above. Among the full-time faculty, there are 1 national outstanding teacher, 1 expert enjoying special allowance from the State Council, 1 expert with special allowance from the provincial government, 6 provincial academic and technical leaders and reserve candidates, 1 second-level professor, and provincial teaching There are 9 famous teachers and 8 provincial-level rookies. In front-line performing arts and media enterprises and institutions, many well-known artists from inside and outside the province have been hired as part-time professors.
The college began enrolling students relying on Anhui University in 2014. The initial employment rate of the first graduating and undergraduate students in 2016 reached 100%. The average employment rate in the past five years is 95.25%. Graduates are welcomed by the society and praised by employers. There are currently 3372 enrolled students.
The college focuses on the discipline of art, and builds a professional group of disciplines such as music and dance, drama and film and television, fine arts, design, journalism and communication. In 2019, Anhui University of the Arts enrolled students separately, and now offers art music performance (vocal singing, piano performance, instrumental music performance), dance performance (Chinese dance, international standard dance direction), performance (Huangmei opera performance, drama and film performance direction) ), broadcasting and hosting art, painting, visual communication design, digital media art and other 7 majors and literary journalism majors. In 2021, five art majors will be added: film studies, drama, film and television literature, film and television photography and production, Chinese painting, and environmental design.
Since 2014, it has won 184 provincial-level quality engineering projects, 11 provincial-level teaching achievement awards; 137 provincial-level scientific research projects, approved the provincial key discipline construction platform for music and dance, and the Anhui Music Culture Research and Inheritance Center approved Provincial key research base for humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities, the original opera "Bao Qingtian" was approved as a provincial key cultural project; 2 national art fund projects, 1 youth fund project from the Ministry of Education, 6 national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program projects ; Published 374 academic papers and 36 monographs and textbooks.
The college cooperates with Anhui Performing Arts Group, Anhui Radio and Television Station, Anhui Radio and Television Media Industry Group, Anhui Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, Anhui Art Museum, Yuexi County Government, Feidong County Party Committee Propaganda Department and other enterprises and institutions, cultural media institutions, and local governments to develop school enterprises.
