Anhui Wenda Institute of Information Engineering is located at the foot of Zipeng Mountain, a national 4A-level scenic spot in Hefei, beside Yanwan Lake. The predecessor of the school was Anhui Wenda Vocational College of Information Technology, founded in 2001. In 2011, it was approved as a full-time general undergraduate university by the Ministry of Education.
