Ma On Shan College

Ma'anshan College is a private applied undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Anhui Province. The school is located in Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province. The campus is planned to cover an area of 1016 acres. The school has a built-up area of 260,000 square meters and the library contains 737,800 paper books. The school has 10 colleges including Artificial Intelligence Innovation College, Osaka Medical Engineering College, Tencent Cloud Big Data College, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering College, Architecture Engineering College, Art Design College, Economics and Management College, Foreign Language College, Marxist College, and Basic Department ( Department). There are a total of 31 undergraduate admissions majors, covering engineering, economics, management, culture, art and other categories. It recruits students from Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Henan, Shandong, Guangdong, Shaanxi and other provinces. There are currently more than 9,100 students in school. The school has a total of 523 faculty members, of which more than 78% are teachers with a master's degree or above, and about 38.2% are associate professors and above.


The school continues to reform and innovate, and strives to improve the school-running philosophy of "taking education as the goal, taking students as the main body, taking teachers as the foundation, and teaching as the center", and gradually formed the school motto of "integrity of morality and ability, knowledge and action". The excellent school spirit of "united, diligent, rigorous, and innovative", the teaching management is rigorous and orderly, and the campus culture is full of vitality. The school is committed to cultivating students to become practical talents with innovative consciousness, international vision and craftsmanship for the comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, physical education, and art, serving the development of the industry. The school attaches great importance to the quality of teaching and the cultivation of students' abilities, and the results of education and teaching are fruitful. The admission score of the school ranks among the top of similar schools in the province. Graduates are well received by social enterprises and institutions. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates of our school has remained above 93%, and the rate of enrollment of graduates has stabilized at above 15%. In 2020, the employment rate of graduates will reach 91.17%, and the employment direction is mainly concentrated in the manufacturing industry and related fields.


The school pays attention to strengthening the cultivation of students' innovative and practical ability, insists on promoting learning through competition, and actively organizes students to carry out scientific and technological competition activities. The students' innovative and practical ability has been continuously improved, and a large number of scientific and technological competition results have been achieved. The students have won 1,341 provincial or higher awards in the National College English Contest, the National College Student "Freescale" Cup Smart Car Contest, and the National College Student Electronic Design Contest, including 165 at the national level. A team dominated by students from our school has won the gold medal in the National University Student "Challenge Cup" competition. In the 2018-2020 academic year, our school's students have achieved excellent results in nationally influential subject competitions, and won 361 provincial and ministerial awards, including 114 national awards and 787 award-winning students.


The school integrates career development education, innovation and entrepreneurship teaching system and entrepreneurship practice platform. Starting in 2012, the compulsory course of "Entrepreneurship Education and Practice" was opened, and elective courses such as simulation training, online entrepreneurship training, business startup training, and entrepreneurial awareness training were carried out. In 2017, the school was approved as a provincial entrepreneurial college and a municipal college student entrepreneurship incubation base.


Second, the history of running a school


The predecessor of the school was the Business School of Anhui University of Technology. It was established in June 2003. It was an independent college sponsored by the Anhui University of Technology and approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Anhui Province.


In December 2014, Anhui University of Technology and Shenzhen Saiwei Intelligent Co., Ltd. jointly organized the Business School of Anhui University of Technology.


In June 2019, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Business School of Anhui University of Technology was transferred to Ma'anshan College.


3. School-running characteristics


The school regards the integration of production and education and international cooperation in running schools as the two main means to achieve rapid development.


The first is to combine the professional structure layout with the host’s industrial layout, and set up new engineering majors, such as rail transit signal and control, data science and big data technology, unmanned aircraft system engineering, robotics, etc.; the second is based on " The characteristics of "new engineering" multi-disciplinary cross-integration set up departments and majors, and formulate corresponding talent training programs, with a view to gradually building an industry demand-oriented academic discipline and talent training ecosystem. The third is to promote the reform of the talent training model by setting up experimental innovation colleges. In the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Innovation, small-class project-based teaching is implemented, production and education are integrated, learning and research are combined, theory is combined with practice, and learning by doing. Equipped with a team of dual-teacher dual-ability teachers to promote the two-way interaction and integration of school professional teachers and group R&D personnel. The school continues to explore and practice the transition from "traditional engineering" education to "new engineering" cross-professional education, and cultivate new engineering talents with engineering practice capabilities.


The school and Saiwei Intelligent Co-construction Laboratory, currently the rail transit laboratory, robotics laboratory, drone laboratory, big data laboratory and smart city research institute "four rooms and one institute" have been preliminarily established, with scientific research as the core A platform for dynamics, industry-university-research interaction. Among them, the rail transit laboratory was approved as a provincial key laboratory in 2019.


International cooperative education schools have extensive and in-depth cooperation with well-known universities in Japan, Britain, Italy, Thailand, and Spain. Saiwei Intelligence established the "Saiwei Intelligence-Osaka University Health Strategy Research Institute" at Osaka University, Japan. On this basis, the school appointed the vice chairman of Osaka University as the honorary dean to carry out the "3+1" study abroad program; 2019 Osaka University supports our school to establish the Osaka Institute of Medical Engineering, and focus on the general health direction to jointly cultivate interdisciplinary talents such as service robots and health management. In 2018, the school cooperated with the University of Modena in Italy to establish the "China-Italy International Teacher Cooperation Demonstration Base"; in 2019, the school signed a cooperative education agreement with the British "Cardiff Metropolitan University" and carried out the "3+1" undergraduate and master degree program; and Thailand" Geller University", signed a memorandum of friendship and cooperation, and carried out graduates recommended projects. In 2020, the school will set up a new Spanish major, and reached a cooperation intention with the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, and signed a letter of intent for cooperation between the two schools.
