Wanjiang Institute of Technology is a provincial private general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. It is located in Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province, a civilized city in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta. It is adjacent to Nanjing and Hefei, two major provincial capitals, with obvious geographical advantages. The school was founded in 2008, formerly known as Wentian College of Hohai University. In 2012, it was added as a bachelor degree authorized unit. In 2018, it was converted to an independent general undergraduate university and renamed "Wanjiang Institute of Technology".


The school has two campuses, Huolishan and Zhengpugang, covering a total area of 1353 mu. The total area of school buildings is 434,000 square meters. The existing collection of books is 1.166 million volumes. The total value of fixed assets is 78.869 million yuan.


The school has 9 secondary colleges including the School of Water Conservancy Engineering, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Electrical Information Engineering, the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Finance and Economics, the School of Management, the School of Art and Design, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the School of International Education.
