Anhui University of Science and Technology is a provincial undergraduate college with a long history of running a school, profound cultural heritage, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. The school was founded in 1950 and began to hold undergraduate education in 1965. After the changes of Fengyang Branch of Anhui Agricultural College, Wanbei Agricultural College, Anhui Agricultural Technology Teachers College, Anhui Technical Teachers College, etc., it was renamed Anhui Science and Technology College in 2005 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Over the past 70 years, we have been through winds and rains and overcoming obstacles. The generations of Anke people have passed on from generation to generation, forge ahead, and the school has made great progress. There are 17,226 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates, and more than 100,000 outstanding graduates have been delivered to the country and local economic and social development.


The school has Fengyang campus and Bengbu Longhu campus. The Fengyang campus is located in the ancient city of the middle capital of the Ming Dynasty, the hometown of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. Adjacent to Bengbu University Science and Technology Park, high-speed railway station, Longzi Lake Scenic Area. The school covers an area of nearly 2,000 acres, with a building area of 580,000 square meters, and a total value of 250 million yuan in teaching and research equipment. There are 5 basic experimental teaching centers, 26 professional group experimental centers (rooms) and 7 subject platforms. There are 3 national science and technology innovation platforms, 1 national off-campus practice education base for college students, 15 provincial and ministerial science and technology innovation platforms, and 9 provincial demonstration experimental training centers. The collection has 1.37 million paper books and 1.28 million e-books.


The school currently has 14 secondary colleges and 50 undergraduate enrollment majors, covering agriculture, engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, medicine and other disciplines. Supporting and coordinated development of applied discipline professional system. There are 1 national comprehensive reform pilot majors, 2 characteristic majors, 4 outstanding engineers education and training program majors, and 3 composite application-oriented outstanding agricultural and forestry talents education and training program reform pilot majors, undertaking national new engineering and new agricultural research and 4 practical projects. It has 6 provincial-level key disciplines, 10 provincial-level first-class undergraduate professional construction sites, 11 provincial-level characteristic majors, 3 first-class (brand) majors, and 16 comprehensive reform pilot majors. It is now a master's degree talent serving the special needs of the country Training project pilot unit. There are more than 1,200 faculty members, including 394 teachers with senior titles such as professors and associate professors, and 863 teachers with doctoral and master's degrees. There are 11 national and provincial outstanding teachers, 2 new century outstanding talents from the Ministry of Education, 5 provincial academic and technical leaders and reserve candidates, and 8 experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council and the provincial government. The school vigorously promotes scientific research and technological development. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 1,600 scientific research projects at various levels, including the National Natural Science Fund and the Social Science Fund, including more than 400 at the provincial (ministerial) level or above. He has published 65 academic monographs, published more than 1,200 high-level academic papers, and won 71 scientific research awards above the city and department level. It has obtained 1,055 patents, including 255 invention patents, and has ranked among the top ten universities in the province for many years. More than 500 cooperative projects of school-enterprise and school real estate studies and research have been carried out with local governments and related enterprises. The school vigorously implements the "Foreign (Border) Cooperation in Running Schools Project", and meticulously organizes outstanding college students' study tours. It has established exchanges and cooperation relations with 26 universities in the United States, South Korea, Britain, Russia and Taiwan. There are 3 national-level Sino-foreign cooperative education projects and 5 provincial-level Sino-foreign cooperative education projects. 255 people went to the United States and South Korea to study for a double degree undergraduate, and 94 graduates went abroad to study for a master's degree.


In the long-term school-running practice, the school has formed a good teaching style of "dedication, moral education, rigorous academic research, and excellence" and an excellent style of study of "diligence in learning, good thinking, hard work, unity and cooperation". The passing rate of the students in the National English Test Band 4 and 6 and the national and provincial computer rank tests have been among the top universities in the province. The rate of student entrance examinations has been maintained at a relatively high rate, and the acceptance rate of some majors has reached 60%. The employment rate of graduates has always remained above 95%. The school has been rated as "the advanced collective of employment in the province" and "the model unit for the employment of ordinary college graduates in Anhui Province" for many times, and has been awarded as the "National Graduate Employment Experience University". "National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Model Experience University", "National University Practice Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base" and other titles. Yang Junsen, the winner of the first "National Top Ten College Student Village Officials", was received by General Secretary Xi Jinping; Miao Juan, who started technology entrepreneurship in Xiaogang Village, Fengyang County, was received by Comrade Hu Jintao and was rated as "National Model of Independent Entrepreneurship" . In 2002 and 2008, the school passed the evaluation of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education twice with excellent results. In 2013, it was selected by the Ministry of Education as one of the first batch of undergraduate teaching review and evaluation pilot units in the country to accept the review and evaluation work and was highly praised by evaluation experts. In 2017, the school was approved as a provincial application-oriented high-level university, and successfully passed the acceptance of the master's professional degree talent training project serving the national special needs, and ranked among the "double first-class" universities in Anhui Province.
