Anhui University of Finance and Economics is a multidisciplinary university of finance and economics focusing on economics, management and law. It is the first batch of universities in my country with the right to grant bachelor's degrees and the third batch of universities with the right to grant master's degrees. It is a key university in Anhui Province. Co-build universities with the People's Government of Anhui Province and the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives. In 2012, it was approved for the national basic capacity building project for universities in the central and western regions. In 2014, it was selected as a high-level university construction project with local characteristics in Anhui Province.
The school was founded in May 1959 in Hefei, Anhui, and was named Anhui University of Finance and Trade. In 1961, it moved to Bengbu, the central city of the Huai River Basin, known as the "Pearl City", and the school was located on Jiaotong Road. In 1983, the school headquarters moved to Longhu West Campus. The school has successively been affiliated to the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Domestic Trade. In February 2000, the State Council decided that the Anhui Institute of Finance and Trade should be jointly built by the central and local governments, with Anhui Provincial Government as the main management. In May 2004, approved by the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Anhui University of Finance and Economics; in September of the same year, the school moved to Longhu East Campus.
