Bozhou College is a public general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. The school started from the Mengcheng Teacher Training Institute established in 1909. In 1952, Mengcheng Normal School was established. In March 2002, it was independently upgraded to Bozhou Teachers College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2016, it was independently upgraded to Bozhou College.
The school currently covers an area of 1,526 acres, including 601 acres of the new campus under construction (Bozhou College of Traditional Chinese Medicine) and 110 acres of the affiliated school of Bozhou College. There are 13,408 enrolled students and 11,415 enrolled students, of which 8,436 are undergraduates, accounting for 73.9%. Corresponding to Bozhou to build the "World Capital of Traditional Chinese Medicine", in 2020, on the basis of the National Center for Quality Supervision and Inspection of Chinese Medicinal Materials (Anhui), the Institute of Chinese Medicinal Materials Inspection and Testing of Bozhou College will be established, and a strategic cooperation agreement will be signed with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The construction of the campus of the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Bozhou University with a total investment of 1.05 billion yuan has started.
The school conducts extensive school-site, school-enterprise, school-government, and school-school cooperation, builds a platform for industry-university-research cooperation, carries out collaborative innovation, and promotes the integration of work and learning, and the integration of industry and education.
